I've been described by human beings to have 9 wings, but usually in my visions (dreams) I have only one pair of white wings. Quite wierd to think that there would be one wing that has no pair.. what's function for such wing?

in such angels as those that have many wings... the wings don't serve a purpose for flight, it is symbolism. Michael is said to be seven wings in a wheel while in his true form. The odd number of wings probably appear as some odd shape that boggles the mind but is completely ineffective other than for show and display of power and glory.

It would generally serve as an added "antennae" of sorts, through which to channel power/energy and boost defense. (Lol rudder )

After reading the entire thread, I must say that I'm highly interested in how all of you found out your wing types. I understand dreamquests, meditation, etc. Has anyone had just a random occurrence when they glanced in a reflective surface and *saw* their wings? I've thought for many, many years that if I had wings, they couldn't possibly be the snow-white feathers I saw in books about Christian angels. Having identified with birds of prey for a long while, it both did and didn't surprise me when I saw- as I was passing a mirrored window after leaving work- a pair of wings on my shoulders. They were coloured much as a red-tailed hawk's, with a dark creamy base, red flecks and tips, and an overall burnished appearance. Considering I've seen cat ears actually move and respond to my boyfriend's moods- including flattening his hair on one very irritable night- and other 'things' that I can't fully explain, this was...very interesting. Has anyone else seen their wings like that?

similarly by aura... but I usually don't perceive color when I am viewing auras

aye, 'wings' are manifest in the aura (in my opinion)...in the case of winged-celestials, bird therians etc. as energy is quite malleable...one could even form wings by just trying to hard to see if they have them...so it's none too important an identifier, just a fun little tidbit to discover about one's self.
many discover them through meditation...connecting with their "chi" and finding that it's flow takes a detour. others may through simply clairvoyant practice

I have the standard Set for Seraphim. Three pairs. The largest one measuring approximately 36 to 42 feet according to the person that could see them back in 92 and other accounts. The second pair is a little smaller, going from the shoulders down and the third pair is small in comparison, covering the body as a protection shield. All that counting for human appearance with wings, as I sometimes be seen by humans that cannot cope with a large fiery 'serpent' hanging in the air. Colour is burning and blinding white, contrary to the traditional depiction in red (which only reflects the fiery nature of us).
Those wings are not for flying but as a kind of extra-organ. Sensible and sensual, I sense through them. The little pair is for protection purpose only to provide protection for humans and others that are not able to stand the spiritual fire.

I have six. Two very large ones, two medium and two really small ones. All together though, when i've compared my lower two sets of wings - they look like baby ones. The highes two between my shoulder blades are big though. The set inbetween the top and bottom are 'medium' i guess to describe. They go down about half the length of my body. and the last two are very small. If you've ever seen one of those old pictures that have a scene with children angels...with their small wings, thats about how small my little ones are. They're bright as hell and not so much have a feathered look.

Infront of my two brothers. I was in danger, and was going to get hurt...very badly. I threw my arms open and i felt a slight tingliy feeling and when i looked up i was about 10 feet away from where i feel. I was on ym hands and knees and i loked at my back and there were wings. I looked at my brothers and all they said were, "..w-..wings?!"

Though two are almost fully showing, it shows the other four coming out of my back. it looks liek they're 'seeping' out. As for mirrors, I got out of the shower and was standing in the twoel and l looked up and fell backwards on the floor. Scared the hell out of me. hahaha. i looked different then what i do now. My hair was longer and was curly . I had as best i can say looked like a crest on my for head. My hair was a silky brown/gold/red color. I was like, "0_0!" and when i stood up i moved my han infront of mirror, she did the same. it was me....I did a lot of double takes but was also standing there like, "0_0"
