{A few years ago I became very, very tired of the usual 'have you missed/kissed/etc' surveys that my sister-in-law kept emailing to me, and I wrote my own. I figured I'd fling it up here, simply because some of the questions are amusing. ^_^}
Do you dream of: flight, climbing, walking or running?
~Flight. Always flight, but only with my real wings.
What is your favorite mythical creature?
~That's a very, very hard one to pinpoint. I'd have to say the Cheshire Cat.
Do you believe in your favorite mythical creature?
~I believe in pretty much everything. Seriously.
Earth, air, fire or water?
~My chart pegs me as half fire, half water, but I love Earth and Air signs. I feel most comfortable in sunlight or thunderstorms, so I guess I'm partial to all of them. (Except for Water signs. The ones I've met are *^^$#&*@ nuts.)
Do you still believe in magic?
~Yes. Absolutely. Yes.
What animal fills you with elation?
~Just about all of them, but I never fail to thrill at the sight of a swooping hawk or galloping horse.
Sci-fi, fantasy, horror, romance, action or comedy books?
~Fantasy, then horror, sci-fi, action, romance and then comedy. ^_^
Poetry or prose?
~I began writing prose, then poetry, and now I fluctuate between the two. If it tells a good story, I'll read anything.
An evening alone or with company?
~I can take either one, but I have to be either entirely alone or with more than one person, save my fiance. He and I can handle being together without anyone else.
Do you ever think of other worlds?
~Think of, dream of, wish for, imagine, try to describe... Oh yeah.
How often do you daydream?
~ ...when do I stop?
Would you prefer to be another creature?
~It's an odd question, that. Now that I've accepted the idea of other-souls, it's not as pressing as it used to be. (That and not being horrifically depressed helps. ^_~) I'd still like to be a phouka, though. ^_~
When was the last time you sang?
~In the car, so all of you that weren't there, be grateful. ^_~
Do you fear ghosts?
~Not particularly. Perhaps if I ever met one who gave me a reason to, I might.
What do you truly fear?
~Leaving the world without having made an impression and not living up to what's expected of me.
Which song gives you the most vivid images in your mind?
~"Far Away" by Nickelback, "Feathery Wings" by Voltaire, "The Last Night" by Skillet and "Send Me an Angel" by the Scorpions
What literary character has drawn you back again and again?
~Azhrarn, Wickedness, Night's Master, Prince of Demons from Tanith Lee's Tales from the Flat Earth
What time period would you live in?
~Ancient Egypt, probably in the Middle Kingdom period. Preferably as a priest/ess of Thoth. (Gender doesn't matter; serving my god does.)
Do you believe in past lives?
~Yes. Without a doubt.
How many urban legends have you spread around?
~As many as I know, and as often as possible.
What mythical place would you live in?
~My city, Brandenburg, Virginia would be my first choice. Barring that, Tanith Lee's Flat Earth.
Sing, write, dance or paint?
~I wish, wish, wish I could sign or draw. However, I am merely a devoted acolyte of Thoth, who blessed me with the craft of a wordsmith. Although I'd like to put my words into pictures, the words themselves are better than no talent at all.
What was the last thing that made you cry?
~Honestly? (This seems so little girlish.) When Robert Neville had to kill his German Shepard, Samantha in "I Am Legend," I sobbed like a two year old.
Do you react to occurences in books?
~Violently. With great feeling. I used to have a little stuffed pig...until I read Animal Farm and got to the part where the pigs send Boxer to the knacker.
Forest, mountain, plain, stream or desert?
~I'm a desert rat, through and through.
Would you want to be immortal?
~Honestly? No. Reincarnation is good; it gives the soul a chance to rest.
War or peace?
~I honestly don't think humanity has the ability to live in peace. Historically there has only been one day in recorded history where there wasn't a war going on somewhere in the world. One. (If I can find my history notes, I'll even be able to post the date.) So war is a constant thing, because someone always has to be right. *sigh*
