And I believe kareshi is asking for evidence beyond your own explanations or claims. We're all capable of claiming anything, no matter how outrageous, but basic reason says there are limits.

well, i suppose the original question was answered...further harping on my part would be rhetorical.....please do feel free to post anywhere sezna. elementals are rarely associated with celestial orders of any sort. the only parallels are elemental associations with specific angels (namely the archangels....such as uriel to earth and michael to fire and so on). or perhaps deva (which is a tricky subject, depending on if your more 'old world', 'new world' or hermetic). it's my belief that all humans (otherkin included) have a slight affinity for 1 or more elements...not so much in the sense of 'manipulating' them as just gravitating towards, aligning/attuning to, or perhaps even resonating with.
you could also look into sylphs, undines, gnomes, and salamanders....to name the 4 most mentioned elemental personifications.

if as many people could do what you claim as there are those that claim it (five feet tall, then splitting it?), it'd be a very commonly accepted thing, about as accepted as gymnasts performing feats of tremendous balance and strength and martial artists breaking bricks with their bare hands, most of all, it'd be on youtube. You now have some pretty unbelievable claims, can you produce evidence of it now? i will, if there is a way to do it without showing pics of me online, cuz i dont do that stuff

you could split a wave while wearing a mask?
(bonus points if it's a phantom of the opera-esque mask....with the music in the background)

in other words, sezna, we might be inclined to believe that you're not entirely lying to us if you actually step up to the plate and back up your claims.
As of right now... I'll come right out and say that we do not believe an iota of what you are claiming. It goes up there with Vampire Hunters and people who are Lucifer reincarnated.
Unless of course you can back it up. In which case we're going to talk, write a paper and make a whole lot of money.

Oh, so that's what being 'part elf' means? *blink* Interesting. If that was possible, my family would certainly be up for it. The only blood I have in my family tree that *isn't* Irish, Scottish or English is my single Cherokee line on my father's side. ^_^ You do have quite the point with the empathy comment, kareshi. It's true that interpersonal intelligence is a large factor in any empathetic ability. I'm honestly not sure if it's anything preternatural, but empathy is a good word to use for it. I do know that no one I'm acquainted with can lie to me about how they're feeling, and nine times out of ten, I can pinpoint what they're feeling and why. It's always possible that the reason so many people claim empathy as a 'power' is because we're a little more sensitive to people's facial expressions, vocal tone and patterns and unconscious gestures than other people might be. Facinating as that may be it does not explain how I know when people are down when they are on the other side of a internet line and the only thing I have to read is the words they type. Not everything is inposible, and Irish bloodlines does not guarantee that you are a long lined decended from the Tuatha De Danann. Sorry I'm hostile again, god I need a holiday. though it seems the tension here is not the friendliest kind.

This thread also hasn't been posted in for a few months *cough*. Empathy doesn't have to be face to face to work. Before I effectively shut mine off, I could get emotions from photographs, talking to people via IM, reading people's emails or letters, etc. Empathy is not restricted to face to face communications.
I personally don't believe in anyone being physically elf, fae, etc. Genetics is just too easy to prove.

Empathy works through...everything, from my experience. Personally I loathe my empathy, but choose not to shut it off.
^Agreed.^
Calia: I wouldn't say its tension here, just lack of posts mixed with natural skepticism.
