Angels and the Dark side

We all have dark sides to us.
What do you to control it?
What would happen if you let it slip?

Do you recall a place of punishment in such for Angels that might be slipping into madness but have not yet reached the point to be fallen and so they throw the Angel in this chamber for punishment and redemption, and to be judged.

punishment for Angels going against their purpose and breaking rules results in taint; eventually this leads to Falling. At least so far as I know.

I don't really have a dark side, at least not one that goes against any rules, this is why my wings are still pure white.

Angels that are heavily tainted aren't "thrown" anywhere for punishment, they're just disallowed from more and more areas of Heaven. Consider their security clearances reduced and then revoked.

I dont "control" my dark side or "repress" it in any way for that matter. I am darkness, it is my very nature, my very existence. I do not recall such a place as you have mentioned. I would doubt it even exists where I come from.

Simply put, this dark=evil theory that populates the minds of most people tires me. It's a blind way of seeing things in Black and White. A view fit for the simpleminded self-right bastards of our universe.

Um... okay...didnt say dark = evil though. But yeah see your point and that what was instilled in me. But believing that way is sure to make you lose your sanity. I am better now learning to embrace me as a balance.

To me Light cannot exist without Dark. Why supress it by saying "I am only Light or I am only Dark" If anyone suppresses their Dark Side then they themselves would become Inbalanced. Including Angels.

I definitely have both and am designed as such. I'm neutral. Can't have neutrality without a mix of light and dark, order and chaos, you get the picture. The thing is to not let one take over completely to where there's no coming back. You always have to try and keep a balance. Sure you might lean more to one side or the other in various situations, but it isn't a real problem unless you completely give yourself over to one or the other.

Light can be just as destructive as dark without the other to balance it.

Personally I think that labelling light=white=good=pure and darkness=black=bad=corrupted is just detrimental in general and often leads to colorism and calling corrupted or forbidden magics "black" magics and the conceptualism of anything "dark" or "shadowy" or "night" as somehow inherently bad. It increased the hate against anything not associated with white, pale, light, bright stuff. I always frown whenever someone says "dark" and "black" and "shadow" and "darkness" in place of "bad" or "ugly" or "corrupted." Just as I frown whenever someone says "light" and "bright" and "white" in place of "good" or "beautiful" or "pure." It leads to a mentality that ultimately causes a LOT of hurt, pain, torture, and even death to numerous people around the world by fueling racism and xenophobia and supporting white people privilege. (Hell even labelling pale-skinned people as "white" and dark brown skinned people as "black" adds to that duality.)

At least several Asian countries like China and Japan consider the color white as associated with death and the supernatural and spirits. Though they're also wrapped up in the "paler skin is better!" mentality too so.... not totally immune or different......

Since my mate is a demon, I also grimace whenever the word "demon" is used in place of villain or corrupt or bad or evil. It's always "demonize" this and "inner demons" that and honestly we're both just plain sick of it. At least devil works as a corrupted metaphor, but demons in general definitely not. Also dragons get a bad rap too and "draconian" is associated with totalitarian or dictator or extreme.

So instead of using light/darkness terms or demon for things I've been working on clearing it all out of my vocabulary and if I mean "bad, corrupt, evil" or "pure, good, helpful" then I SAY so. Not "light/shadow light/dark light/darkness" sides or whatever. If I mean villain, I say villainize instead of demonize. If I mean totalitarian or dictator or tyrannical, then I say that instead of "draconian."

Also, using positive or negative instead of "light" or "dark" energies or sides or traits or whatever also works splendidly. Just go with positive or negative, please.

That's just my rant though.
