Been wondering this for a while, but, how does one go about purposely discovering their identity? Like Angelic name, in my case.
I know some people meditate on it, and such, but no one's ever quite explained to me how/what to meditate on.

Personally I find that if I try to find something out about myself I come out with waisted time and a headache.
When I am not thinking about Otherkin at all for a good long time is when something new pulls me back.

simliarly to Terro if I find myself too long out of the "astral stuff" something always comes along to pull me back.
Though my greatest discoveries always come in times of hurt or tragety. Usually my greatest discoveries come from my greatest sad times. This leads me to beleive that bad things always happen for a reason, for me, tragety brings strength and understanding. this is NOT to say I LIKE it when bad crap happens to me, I just feel as if it's nessisary in order for me to learn and become stronger.
Since getting my new Tarot of the Saints deck (which I'm fairly accurate with) I found out something interesting. Whenever I ask questions of Focus on my inner self, I normally pull a mixture of cards, but almost always in any drawing there will be a card of the swords suit which (depending on the deck) meand turmoil, trial, adversity, and etc, coupled with an ace card which symbolized rebirth. And you know... (I always pull the justice card, give you three guesses as to who's on that one >_>)

I don't really do much of anything... heh I sound lazy, as that's something I seem to say often.
Ahem, otherwise I just seem to wait, and if I'm meant to know whatever it is by whatever's stopping me, then I will. If not, then I won't.
I don't personally see such things as having a huge bearing in my current life; I'm here for whatever purpose, or no purpose at all, so I might as well live life in the body I'm given (though sometimes I'd sorely like to trade up to a slimmer model) and so I'll learn what I can when it comes.

Been wondering this for a while, but, how does one go about purposely discovering their identity? Like Angelic name, in my case. I just asked my soul's fathers. In the beginning I tried to use the pendulum or witchboard and listened very hard as well when using them. The only thing I was sure of was that the name begins with an "a" until I finally was told.

meditation's funny like that. as there is no specific way to go about something...i believe you'll find that many kin are eventually just hit with a name, at an awkward time, and with a migraine to boot. as i've said in other post, mine is more a moniker than an actual name...personally i don't feel nomenclature is as important as application (if one has one) or experience. my only suggestion is to give it time, though if one is inclined to do so...meditations that focus inward such as basic breathing exercises...would be ideal.......like with anything it takes a level of 'tuning' for frequency and sounding out. (per request, i'll give a full meditation but i imagine many here can create their own.) keep in mind, however, that what you come across may either be a product of creativity or perhaps a name that will lead you to something else....you have to walk around with it a bit, to know if it fits right.

I first got another name that was told me by a parapsychologist I went to - when I talked with her about my 'kin'. She was a bit surprised because she normally receives the 'names' not when the person sits in front of her But I think it was different this time as I really wanted to know and needed to know ... so I got a name. A name I could cope with at that time - but a name that did explain 'me' as well. It was at a time when I had to cope with many things and to find back to myself. My original name I was told later by Ashmodai, who remembered a talking between 'us' - where I told him my name and the meaning as well as why I had been told a different name before. I felt in my name and now I can say - yes, it is fine for me to know it.
