Okay. So I don't believe I am an angel after all. I seem to feel more demonic. However, I do have some phantom limbs that confuse me quite a bit. I have a lion's tail, and eagle like wings.

Now this leads me to wonder about gryphon, especially since I have animalistic behaviors..behaviors that I do not think a demon would exhibit: posessiveness of food, obsessive chewing, growling, so on.

So now I have to sort through this.

Oh, I understand you perfectly. When I first began exploring the non-human side to me I thought I was a ton of things before I ever had a real awakening. Even then, I'm still learning about all the other forms I am able to take. In truth, you're the one that ends up deciding what you want to look like. Kind of like what we do in this realm by dying or cutting our hair, etc. Only this time there's more "magic" involved. =P Good luck on the journey!

Interestingly phoenix was also the strongest idea of the self when I awakened and he is somewhat associated with sun and somewhere I read this bird as being directly related to g-d.

i have to play the objector a bit and say i disagree...being a 'kin' of any sort isn't so much a choice as it is an actualization or awareness. one can choose to deny what they are...but it doesn't mean they're any more or less something. i certainly agree that on a mental/astral level one can definitely change their image. i even believe that the most human human out there can (with enough time and practice) form their energy into wings or other fun things...but because images are so capricious/spurious on that level...they don't do as much to determine what we truly are.

ignis, it's great you're seeking yourself on your path...there's an infinite number of ways your discoveries could go. i did find it a rather ironic juxtaposition that you said you're not an angel after all...and then that you feel demonic.....huge leap lol. but anyway, what you're explaining are traits that many therians have early on; or people that are 'naturally inclined' as shamans sometimes 'shift' to a power animal(s) without realizing it (if you feel it's more innate i would look into therianthropy). there's also mihos from egyptian mythology (excuse the word 'myth' sry) or the mythraic aeon from gnosticism (which would actually be a rather good fit to your astral characteristics. if you look in the goetia (testament of solomon-esque demonology) you may find some lion-demons...i can think of one specifically but can't remember the name (think it starts with an 'm' if that's helpful). one thing that helps is to consider why you possess wings and a tail, symbolically what they represent...the characteristic itself, the animal it resembles, and other details you can pick out. in other words, you say you have a lion tail vs a tiger or dog tail...it may help you figure yourself out a bit more.

those are the best resources i can think of...besides yourself of course. none of us will find complete definition in the world's religions so you're going to be in a minority thought regardless of what you find out...so 'living it' is to me more important than 'defining it'. just know yourself, you say that you're beginning to awaken...it'll merely take time.

small question: do you feel "demonic" because of your appearance, or something else? Hell, I feel demonic most of the time, but it has nothing to do with how I look. But as a note, didn't the Cherubim look something like what you're describing--some of them "animalistic" in appearance?
