As some of you may know, the forum at Otherkin Alliance has been taken down. Many members have felt this was a terrible travesty, and in the wake of so many feeling as they have lost a home, I, along with the help of Kahoku, have opened a new forum: "The Otherkin Phenomena"

We feel it best to approach the topic and the many phenomena related to Otherkin in a mature and respectful manner, using a blend of personal experience and documented fact and research to further our understand of our similar experiences. We can find the truth if we cut away our myths. We also feel it best to promote friendship and camaraderie in the hopes that we might have an enjoyable time together during our individual spiritual journeys.

Not wanting to bring the drama here, too (and you can answer this in pm if you'd like), but I was wondering what your opinion was of the situation. I know a bit of it from both Glass and kahoku (via lj). What are your thoughts?

I believe that the loss of the OKA forum is a tremendous travesty, the amount of information stored on those pages was approximately 94.3 megabytes of discussions and debates and opinions.

My take on the situation, I just hope that the factors contributing to taking down the forum balance out the anger that was caused by its removal. If this was a petty move meant to spite a few by taking away from them and the many, then I am sorely displeased.

Thanks for the offer but in lew of so much drama revolving around me I'll have to decline xD. You know why. I probably wouldn't be welcome and it would only serve to make things tense and that's not fun.

There are a few people on OKA that would be there that have made it clear that they want nothing to do with me and DO blame me for OKA's forum failure. I wouldn't have a problem ignoring them but would it really be worth it to post on a forum where you know people will go out of their way to avoid or attack you?

I never knew that I was mentioned as actually being a part of the whole business... I know this topic is probably over, but I'll admit I've been curious.

Lots of people have been coming to me after I was banned, asking me if I was the reason glass was leaving, etc etc etc. It was always news to me when someone asked me "are you the reason bla bla bla?" I don't have a clue.

Ah well, I can understand why you wouldn't want to go back, per se, Prince. It's daunting to have something happen to you by a group of peers, and then be faced with the oppertunity to go back; it's a lot like walking through a room FULL of people who watch your every move. Creeeeeepy.

I apologize for those who came to OKA in the end of its run. I agree that it did not feel welcoming at all since at the bare minimum the spring of 07. There was an arising conflict between the staff and founders, a lot of stress by everyone, not to mention the raids by the channers.

OKA went downhill, exceedingly fast. OKP is hoping to go back to what OKA originally stood for.
