I know it is the popular belief that angels with dark wings are fallen, that the blackened feathers are a symbol of a tarnish on one's holy self. But I pose this question because a lot of art I've been seeing. I'm not trying to generalize but many non-white people view their angelic selves with the color wings that match their skin. I saw images of gorgeous African angels with very dark brown or black wings, yet I got a very "holy" vibe from them.
So do you think that dark wings reflect a dark soul? Or do you think its a matter of learned perception?

there is a difference between being black because of color, very vibrant black wings are seen on many Angels dealing with the subject of death, and being black because of a lack of light or being dull.
The glory of the Creator is shown through the Angel and their wings as they are directly linked to the Creator, as transgressions serve to distance one from the source, that glory fades.
I am of the believe that all Fallen Angels have black wings (of those that have wings).

It's true my wings were different a while ago, a little more brown and black than gold in them now, but the colours were always there. My wings aren't black, although I am very positive that I am Fallen. I think I've already stated my opinion concerning the colour indicating a Fallen status or not. It probably is closer to an individual basis. I really don't know, though. Colours are just, colours.

I don't believe that dark or black wing colour means an Angel is a Fallen one. I believe that is simply humanity trying to justify why some Angels, who are supposed to be "good", have black or dark wings.
I believe wing color pertains to an Angels job/purpose and/or maybe age. Like Angels who guide the dead and such are normally shown to have black wings.
But once again, seeing Death Angels with black wings is a depiction by humanity, and therefore unrealiable. Artists illustrate what, in some way, makes sense to them, or is how they see matters.
As for actual experiences, I have seen Angels of any "allegience" with any given color wings. Sometimes seeming to be element-based.

I have yet to see any correlation between wing color and purpose, with the exception again of Angels dealing with death having black wings.
The difference is that Angels of Death don't all have black wings, but rather manifest them when dealing with it. Wing color is something that shows a symbol when displayed before many, including Humans.

Perhaps humans see one color, and Angels see something else amongst each other. I have seen plenty of fallen who haven't got black or dark wings.
I'm sure we could all come up with countless theories for wing color.
Like, perhaps, wing color is inherrited. Or maybe designated by higher powers.

I don't think that angel wing color changes based on status, rank, our. I know I'm fallen and my wings are white and red.
I think that wing color is related to our grace. The value of it when we were made determined our wing color, and it doesn't change when our grace darkens or lightens.
