so...in this incarnation, who was the first angel you remember encountering and how did it go? any suggestions for those still trying to learn how to communicate with divine critters?

In my case, the first angel that I can recall dealing with was also not the "typical" angel, being something like myself (I sound full of it when I say it like that, sorry).
He was a guardian of sorts that I began to become aware of, after I had awakened. I don't hear him like normal, like you'd hear a person near you; I sort of... hear him in my mind.
The experience was mildly amusing, as he's very sarcastic and sometimes witty. In fact, now that I think about it, my first encounter with him was before I awakened, in a dream. He's a very... interesting character. He intimidated me physically in my first encounter, we'll say (woo!).
As for helping others to communicate with angels of any sort? I know it sounds lame, but... just listen. They're there.

He is, and he isn't.
When I'm not incarnate, I'm with another group of those who are just like me. There are four of us in total, and we are ALWAYS together. If one of us incarnates, in this case me, the others sort of stick around/lend a hand. He was the first one I can remember having any sort of contact with in this life.
So in a way he's a spirit guide, at least in this life; but when I'm not incarnate, he's just another "me". We're the same, in that sense. The same sort of "angelic-y" thing.

Well, I simply say Angelic-y because I consider angel the closest term, if not THE term to describe myself, but I see angels in a different way than the "traditional". It's gotten me into some arguments before, so I'm trying to find something that's just... easier for people to stomach, I think, including myself.
I still have a hard time describing myself, but it's the best I can do.

The first major angel that I met was the "male" Gabriel. He protected me before i got too big for my britches, then Michael took over hee.

Michael seems to be a common guide prince...any insights to share? Luin, we all seem to stray from established context in some way...quite a progressive bunch i would argue, as such we all seem to expand on the "traditional" as you put it...so i definitely understand where you're coming from. just wondering if you could expand on you angelic-y-ness a bit more? for the sake of conversation of course....and if you're willing. what does it feel to be to you?

I am certainly willing.
It seems a bit silly, to me, as before I awakened I was a bit of a "hard ass", or at least I wanted to be seen as one. I worried a lot more about everything, especially what people thought of me.
But since I've awakened, I'm MUCH more tame. Don't get me wrong, given the chance to fight for a cause, and I mean physically fight, I'd probably be there. But I feel much more relaxed, comfortable, and open. I feel like some sort of... I don't know. I feel like I'm always smiling. I feel like a warm cup of spiced cider or something like that, with a hint of cinnamon. I feel like a roaring fire at the end of a cold wet day. I feel like a favorite sweater or someone's favorite dream. I'm dear to those who don't know me and for reasons they don't understand, yet I'm invisible. I'm like a psychologist who's really good, but you don't have to pay and you don't remember their name once you leave them. I'm a doormat, though I get all the junk off of your shoes.
To me, angelic-y more or less means that I believe I am similar to angelics, except that I was not created by anyone or with any intention. I believe I, and many others like me, were more created as a result of some sort of "big bang" kind of theory, though on a much smaller scale. I think we were more of an accident, and that we choose what we want to do with our "lives". We were the result of certain things being in a certain place at a certain time by pure chance, or maybe we were even results of the creation of the universe (which I personally believe is also accidental, though I believe it could still have had a god who came later. Of course, I believe I could still be wrong about that, too).
Some of us are "good", some of us are "bad", but all of us are free to make our choices.
I say angelic-y also because I think myself and others like me are very similar in other respects, though how to hammer out WHAT respects, I don't know. I think our "jobs" are similar, though we don't answer to anyone. Not that we don't want to, and perhaps some of us may have decided to do so, it's just that we weren't made that way. Our jobs aren't even jobs, per se; we can stop whenever we want, do whatever we want. But most of us are compelled to do SOMEthing, whether it's helping or hindering. I know only those personally who help, though I suspect my guide may have the inclination to hinder once in awhile. It's ok, I still like him.
It's almost like we're free-living hippies, if you will (just kidding, no offense meant to anyone).
I hope that helps. A lot of that was written out for the first time. It's possible that what I say may change with time, but I haven't been thinking about it that hard for very long. I just... I care, but I don't CARE as much as I did when I first awakened. I want to know more and am learning more, but my life as a human takes the helm.

Michael is very special to me...and I'm not at liberty to go into it but lets just say while he always wears armor he'll always be an author to me first and foremost, then a warrior ^^.

I have recently read a great many works on Heaven and Hell, not all of them from Christian sources. One of the more striking quotes was this one. "I have not seen with my eyes, Heaven or Hell, but I have encountered creatures that would do almost anything to escape Hell just for an brief instant. Beings that are being crushed by the weight of the universe every moment.....That is why I believe."

The first Angel I encountered was my guardian, Evangeline. I "created" a character something like her in middle school for an RPG. The character was a half-angel, who became a full angel once a month on the full moon. Her cinnamon hair turned pure white then, and her violet eyes became crimson. Her human form would have had normal brown hair and blue eyes, but the Angelic influence made them altered halfway all the time. As time went on, I began to draw her half-angel form less and less, and her full-angel one more and more frequently. Her dialogue and actions were too easy to write. The words I wrote for her, I heard spoken in my head, in a soft, gently lilting voice with a slight accent I could not identify. In high school, around my sophomore year, I met friends who were...different. They knew Beings. I met several of them, and they took to me instantly, even a Fallen Angel who gets along with few. I helped reunite a Being with his father, who manifested in another of my friends and was a Lost Angel. The Lost's name was Lepos. He had a brother, too...Philetus, that was his name. I liked Philetus a lot. He was funny and kind and a bit of a flirt! It took me a long time to realize that Evangeline was real, but ever since then, she's been with me. She's needed a lot on the battlefield (she's a Healer), but she's there. I think she's not supposed to be this close with me, but I am different from the usual charge, being Angelic myself. My friends who knew Beings and 'channeled' them knew I was something different from them, something other than a channel. Instead of playing host to a Being, I exhibited qualities of one myself. I have healing powers and aura reading and energy manipulation like Evangeline, but lessened because I have a human's body. Occasionally, I can channel Evangeline, but it's odd--sometimes I cannot tell where one of us begins and the other ends. She feels so natural sometimes that sometimes I wonder if I am the one living as her, or if she is living as me!

Mine were my angel guides and guardians. I think... Annabell was my main guide. She was sweet and nice and awesome. <3 Meeting the archangels came years later lol. I had to call them in first to help with some troubles before we got to talking and before I got to know and then remember them again.
